Cher opens with a powerful rendition of “For Once in My Life,” draped in a white fringe wrap that she tosses aside to reveal a shimmering mermaid-cut gown. In her monologue, she jokes about her dressing room being more crowded than Warren Beatty’s beauty salon, teasing the many people who help transform her from a “ten-year-old boy” into her glamorous self. She introduces Dennis Weaver, Gregg Allman, and Carol Burnett, praising Burnett as the television star she respects most. In a spoof of The $25,000 Pyramid, Burnett plays an anxious contestant paired with Cher’s airheaded celebrity partner, Felicia Star, whose cluelessness nearly costs her the game. Dennis Weaver performs “Prairie Dog Blues,” followed by Cher and Allman duetting on “Don’t Mess Up a Good Thing,” their chemistry more intimate than electric. Burnett hilariously spoofs Cher in a skintight red dress, mimicking her mannerisms, while Cher counters by impersonating Burnett’s aw-shucks charm. In the “Saturday Night” segment, Cher returns home from a costume party as Marie Antoinette, navigating a hoop skirt and making sharp but accepting quips about Robin Hood running off with Friar Tuck. She then debuts “Geronimo’s Cadillac” against a twinkling purple backdrop, clad in a Native-inspired disco ensemble. Allman follows with “Midnight Rider,” intercut with Cher and dancers in a bizarre macramé-laden, post-apocalyptic tableau. In a Sherlock Holmes spoof, Cher’s “Shirley Holmes” and Burnett’s “Dr. Wanda” unravel a murder case, devolving into slapstick brawls and outrageous misinterpretations. The finale is a spectacular musical tribute to Hollywood rivalries, with Cher and Burnett portraying dueling starlets from childhood to superstardom, bickering through jazz, swing, and big-band eras before a glamorous red-carpet showdown set to “Lonely at the Top.” The episode closes in full Hollywood regalia, with Gregg Allman and Dennis Weaver joining the women for a celebratory dance.
