Cher opens with a whimsical performance of “Can You Tell Me How to Get to Sesame Street,” dressed in a polka-dotted jumper with pigtails, setting the tone for a kid-friendly episode. In her monologue, she acknowledges the rare modesty of her outfit, jokingly considering changing mid-show. She then introduces Chaz Bono as the episode’s “talent coordinator,” and together they perform magic tricks before singing a playful duet of “I’d Do Anything.” Illusionist Mark Wilson and his son Greg dazzle with classic tricks, culminating in Cher and Chaz appearing from a dollhouse in matching white jumpsuits. In a chaotic skit, Captain Kangaroo attempts to introduce Cher and Chaz to his “stupid-dillo” (played by The Hudson Brothers), who bungle all of his show’s signature routines. The Hudsons later perform “Lonely School Year,” an oddly juvenile song given their age. In “Saturday Night,” Cher, dressed in a Chinese cheongsam, arrives home late to find her dog Yutz occupying her bed, proving to be a useless guard dog. She closes the segment with a self-aware joke about men and their timing. In a dreamy performance of “When You Wish Upon a Star,” Cher and Chaz ride a giant white swan, with Cher delivering an ethereal falsetto. In another TV-pitch parody, Captain Kangaroo tries to sell his show to a skeptical Cher, who tells him to try CBS because “they’ll buy anything.” Cher later leads The Hudson Brothers as wooden toy soldiers, culminating in a risqué joke about after-hours “maneuvers.” The finale transforms the stage into a magic show, with Mark Wilson and the Hudsons performing classic tricks, including levitating and vanishing Cher, before she reappears in a tank. The show ends with Cher singing “All I Really Want to Do” as Mark Wilson performs small tricks for Chaz during the credits.
